How would you feel if your home business suddenly becomes the center of attraction for millions of your target audience… just because you started paying attention to some simple rules you ignored since you started your home business?
Obviously that will be more money for you, isn’t it?
Yes. No matter how long your home business site has been starved of open-to-buy visitors, you can provoke a change with a few action steps you may have ignored in the past.
There is currently no easier and more efficient way to make good money than setting up a compelling home business on the Internet.
In the past, you need to be a fortune 500 company or one of the big names in online business to make significant sales. But this has changed over the years. From gaining traffic through deliberate efforts to free traffic through search engines, home business owners now have the chance to make lots of money if they know what to do.
I just finished reading about a 17year old kid who is making close to 10,000 dollars in profits every month from a little site on beaches. This is just how easy it is to make money.
But watch it.
Making money online may be easy, especially when you know what to do. But it isn’t free. There is what to do to make it happen for you. There are currently over 56.1 million sites but only about 1% of them are really raking in the mind-blowing wealth that the Internet has to offer.
What is that little thing that makes such a big difference?
This is what you will learn in the next few lines. I am sure you would like to know the reasons why some home businesses are making significant successes while others are not.
Now let’s start with the first…
1. Keeping it simple.
In the physical business world, your patronage increases as your sophistication goes up. But in the virtual business world of the Internet, that just doesn’t work. The greater the simplicity of your home business site, the longer your visitor wants to stay.
The gross majority of those who use the net are looking for one thing. It is information.
Presenting your site as a little picnic to someone who in dire need of relevant information will lead to lose of sales.
You can prevent this by using simple web design tools, avoiding unnecessary background music, comical designs and making your web pages easily navigable. Also, using fonts like Verdana will enhance the presentation of your home business ideas to your target audience. Using fonts like Times New Roman just won’t work for your web page.
Visit highly successful sites like google, yahoo, and amazon to see how they are using this strategy to stay on top. They are not on top because they are big names. They have big names because they operate a high level of simplicity. I intend to dedicate a whole article to ‘Keeping it Simple’ subsequently.
2. Sell Yourself before Selling Your Product.
This is one mistake that millions of home business sites make on the net. As soon as they hit the web world, all their attention is on making sales. No. The more your target audience senses your desperation to pitch them, the more unlikely that they would buy.
If you want to be successful as a home business owner on the web then you must draw attention away from yourself and focus on satisfying unique audience. They want to know you and trust you.
Not really because they like you. But because they want to ‘hit’ you. They want to benefit from you for FREE. People want to make vital decisions in their lives. They are being bombarded daily with various solutions and therefore need a tested and trustworthy expert to give a next-to-zero-risk action plan.
Prove to them that you are the one they can trust. And they will buy whatever product you recommend.
3. Let Your Home Business Over-Deliver
If you started your Internet campaign the right way, then you should have taken time out to know your target audience.
With this information, develop a strategy that will brand you.
Come up with a way to give much more than your average competitor is giving already.
The Internet is now a place where you can get priceless informative ebooks for free. At first glance you may wonder if this people giving away valuable information are making any money.
But the truth is they make more money than those who don’t. Google will give you any information you want free. Ebay will list your products for free. Bloggers.com will let you a blog for free. Squidoo.com will give you a lens for free. Yahoo.com has a catalogue of freebies you can’t resist. These are financially successful sites.
If you want to make the megabucks on the web, develop a high quality, relevant and original product and give it away on your site and watch other sites sweat to give you free publicity.
4. Be Original in Your Content
There are millions of home business sites out there scrambling for attention. And like I said before only a FEW of them get ALL the attention.
Everybody wants something fresh and new. Therefore, you need to develop your site to give first-hand information on your niche topic. Give true-life solutions. Offer tested and proven techniques.
Boost your home business success by showing them proof of originality in the information you provide. Express your ideas and principles in a way that beats the stiff competition out there.
People want to know why they should do what you are asking them to do. Nobody wants to fail. They want to know how to DO IT RIGHT the first time… and succeed. If you have unique home business experiences that reinforce your suggestions, let them know.
Must you have special experiences to make a great content for your site? No. You can research that of others and use it with creativity. Sometimes, originality can be ‘borrowed’. That is where you presentation becomes vital.
If you acquired your ideas by reading what others posted on the net, take it to your ‘branding workshop’ and add your style, unique personality, background knowledge and flavor. It is possible to refine information and present it in such a way that your highly researched audience will find your presentation exceptionally compelling. This will work for any home-based business.
5. Develop A Range Of Related Products
Many Home businesses that succeed do so simply by providing all related products and services for their unique audience. You don’t want a stay-home-mom to walk into your ‘store’ to buy cooking wares only to discover that all you have in stock are spoon. How better off you would have been if you also sell plates, pots, forks, table and kitchen knives, frying pans etc.
It works the same way for home businesses on the web. You may concentrate on one major product but back it up with backend and supplementary products that will satisfy all related needs of your customer.
There are more to talk about in my next article. But till then carry out some adjustments on your home business with the suggestions above.
